Are you a doula interested in becoming Medicaid-credentialed or learning more about how to get paid for Medicaid-covered doula services? Join us for a workshop designed to help doulas understand the credentialing process, complete key registrations, apply with health plans, submit claims, and navigate reimbursement. 

In this training, we will cover:

  • State application requirements, NPI, SIGMA, and CHAMPS enrollment 

  • Liability insurance and health plan credentialing steps 

  • Claims submission options, including paper and electronic systems 

  • Reimbursement methods, direct deposit, and health plan payment processes

Workshop purpose: This workshop will help doulas feel more prepared and confident as they move through the Medicaid credentialing process. Participants will receive practical guidance, examples, and follow-up support to better understand registration, health plan credentialing, claims submission, and reimbursement so they can continue expanding access to doula care in their communities. 

 

Workshop objectives:

  • Describe the steps in the Medicaid registration process, from initial application through reimbursement. 

  • Identify the documents, systems, and resources needed to begin credentialing, including liability insurance, NPI registration, CHAMPS, and electronic medical records options. 

  • Navigate key health plan provider portals and understand how to begin health plan credentialing. 

  • Explain basic claims submission steps and common billing terminology used in the Medicaid reimbursement process. 

  • Apply workshop resources and follow-up support to move forward with their own Medicaid credentialing next steps.
